  • B.P.O.E. #154 Lodge moved to the Fourth and Court Streets building

1932

  • Yellow Cab Company was started by Tracy and Dewey Pack

  • George A. Flag donated 100 acres on Dry Run to the Union Mission

1933

  • Bank funds frozen due to depression

1932

  • Yellow Cab Company was started by Tracy and Dewey Pack

  • Civilian Conservation Corps started a federal program provided jobs for men during the depression

1934

  • Portsmouth Spartans was sold to the Detroit Lions

1935

  • Portsmouth Municipal Ball Park was built for the Red Birds professional baseball team

  • Ball Park renamed Riverside Park

  • Federal Works Progress Administration was established

1936

  •  Portsmouth post office was opened

1937

  • St. Louis Cardinals farm team (Red Birds) played their first game in Portsmouth

  • YMCA was founded
