Portsmouth Police Department
Welcome to the Portsmouth Police Department. The
Portsmouth Police Department consists of the Chief, two Captains, four
Lieutenants, eight Sergeants, and twenty-six Patrol Officers, an
Administrative Assistant and three Administrative Clerks.
The Police Department is located on the ground level
of the Municipal Building. The Municipal Building sits adjacent to the
new construction of the U.S. Grant Bridge, which will join Kentucky
and Ohio.
The Department is comprised of relatively young,
well-educated, and professional officers.
As the Chief of Police, the primary philosophy I
established with my administration is the following:
"We all have a choice in life, we can be part of
problems or part of solutions."
The Portsmouth Police Department is committed to
being part of solutions and serving, with pride, the community we live
in.
Charles H. Horner
